Ingredients


1 ½ kg Chicken (cut, wash and drain) 

1 Cup yoghurt

2 Medium onions

3 Tablespoon tomato grates

4 Elachi (Cardamon)

2 Sticks cinnamon

1 Teaspoon whole jeera (Cummin)

4 Green chillies

½ Teaspoon tummeric powder

2 Teaspoon chillie Powder

1 Teaspoon ginger / garlic

1 Teaspoon salt

½ Cup oil / ghee

*6 small potatoes (optional)


Method 

Cut, wash and drain chicken. Add salt and all the spices, add tomato, yogurt, green chillies, mix well and leave to marinate. 

Fry onions in oil until light brown. Remove from oil and leave to cool. Crust the crispy onions and sprinkle over marinating chicken. 

*If using potatoes, fry until brown in the same ghee / oil used for the onions. 

Put marinated chicken in a pot, using the oil in which onions were fried. Cook on low to medium heat for +/- 40 min until chicken is tender and juices evaporated. Add potatoes to the chicken in the 15 minutes of cooking.
